Documentation Other Players
Other Players
Watch your Magpie channels in Plex, Jellyfin, Emby or Channels DVR.
Add Magpie as a tuner (the easy path)
- In the player
- Look for the setup option that adds a DVR or a tuner (menu names vary by player and change over time). Point it at your network and it should list Magpie as an HDHomeRun device — pick it.
- If it doesn't find Magpie
- If it is not found, add the tuner by the address of the computer running Magpie.
- The guide address
-
If the player asks for a guide (XMLTV) address on its own, use
http://<your-server>:24622/iptv/xmltv.xml— replace<your-server>with the address of the computer running Magpie.
The manual path
- For players that take a raw playlist
-
VLC, other IPTV apps, and anything else that wants a channel list rather than a tuner search can use
the channel list (M3U) address directly:
http://<your-server>:24622/iptv/channels.m3u - Guide
-
Pair it with the same guide address for program details:
http://<your-server>:24622/iptv/xmltv.xml
Same channels either way
- No second lineup
- Disabled and Watch Together channels are left out.
Where this works
- At home
- These addresses are open to anything on your home network, the same as the channels themselves — no sign-in needed.
- Away from home
- If you turn on remote access so Magpie reaches you outside your home network, these addresses need the same sign-in as everything else does once that's on.
